Services

You can contact me with the following tasks: software localization for the Italian market, translations of IT-related texts from English and Russian into Italian (sites, technical documentation, marketing materials), translation of business correspondence, creation of press releases and other texts. You can even ask me to respond to your Italian client on your bahalf. All that is called linguistic support of software developemnt and marketing.

Software localization

Software localization is akin to transalting a movie, as both of these translation jobs consist of two comnponents: translation into the necessary language and adaptation (figuratively speaking, using local idiomatic expressions :) ).

While working on software localizations, I always download and install the application (for context searching, if necessary), study the information on the site (for a better understanding of its architecture and functionality) and consult with software experts (you cannot embrace the unembraceable). Besides, I am constantly updating specialized glossaries and dictionaries and use the resources that the Internet abounds in (Microsoft guidelines, specialized newsletters, Google, etc.).

Once the developer builds the Italian version of the program, I review it once again to detect any errors or inconsistencies (string lengths, etc.) and report them to the developer.

Translations

As for translations into the Italian language, just send me the document (a table, website page in HTML, etc.) that you need translated and you will get it back nice and accurate, but already in Italian.

Other

You can aslo contact me with less global issues, such as translation of additional strings in the interface, news, letters and so forth. Small jobs are prioritized. Should you need such services, please do not hesitate - I will be glad to help.
